Temple's UIL One-Act Play team advanced to the area contest from the bi-district contest held at Longview High School contest on Saturday, March 23 Advancing along with Baby and the Bathwater were Rockwall-Heath High (Mariner) and Longview High (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest). Copperas Cove was the alternate advancing school. The area contest (Districts 9-10-11-12) will be Saturday, April 6, at the Midway Performing Arts Center, 800 Hewitt Drive, Hewitt, TX 76643. Temple will perform as the 6th and final show, at approximately 4:10 p.m.
Over 250 class 6A schools started the annual contest. At the Area level, only 48 schools remain in the competition.
The other three competitors at area will be decided at their bi-district contest on Thursday, March 28 at Prosper HS. Temple will compete against three of these six schools: McKinney (Sweet Nothing in My Ear), Prosper (Eurydice), Plano (These Shining Lives), North Garland (Shipwrecked!), Wylie (The Book of Will), JJ Pearce (Bob).
Temple's Sierra Amalbert was named Best Actress at the contest. Seth Little and Anthony Williamson were named to the All-Star Cast. Allison Quiroz was named to the All-Star Crew.
