All six Temple students who competed in the UIL District Academic Speech Competition at Belton High on March 27 received medals, with two students winning their contests. Sereniti Patterson was the District Champion in Prose and Olivia Cabrera was the District Champion in Poetry.
Other Prose contestants included Sierra Amalbert (2nd place) and Genevieve Myers (3rd place). Other Poetry contestants included D'Andre Wright (3rd place) and Anthony Williamson (6th place).
The top three places in each contest advance to the Regional Contest at Baylor University on Saturday, April 13.
