Temple's One-Act Play Team will be going for its 28th Consecutive District Championship during the 12-6A contest on Saturday, March 7, at the Midway ISD Performing Arts Center, 800 North Hewitt Drive, Hewitt, TX 76643. Temple will be the 5th school to perform.
Performances begin at 2 p.m. and run back-to-back. (*approximate time)
2:00 p.m. Killeen High, Sylvia
*2:50 p.m. Shoemaker High, Wit
*3:40 p.m. Belton High, The Last Lifeboat
*4:30 p.m. Midway High, Shakespeare in Hollywood
*5:20 p.m. Temple High, Mac Beth
*6:00 p.m. Waco High, Ada and the Engine
Auditorium doors are typically closed during each performance and audience members may enter or leave only between performances.
Critic judges include Phillip Morgan, Michael Harlan and Carla Schumann. Contest manager is Jerry Blake.
There is no charge for admission at this level of the contest. If driving from Temple on Interstate 35, take Exit 325 (Hewitt Drive) and turn left. Stay on Hewitt Drive for around 4.5 miles and you will see the Performing Arts Center on your right, in front of the football stadium.
Three of the six schools will advance to the bi-district contest, which will be Saturday, April 4 (revised date), at the Midway Performing Arts Center. Temple is out of school March 8-15 for spring break.
