Performances of Blithe Spirit will be Thursday-Saturday, October 7-9, at 8 p.m. with a Sunday matinee on October 10 at 2 p.m. The comedy, by Noël Coward, will be performed at the Temple High School Auditorium. General admission tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. They are available from students connected with the show, or from www.CentralTexasTickets.com.
Novelist Charles Condomine (Thomas Painter), and his wife, Ruth (Natalie Greenfield), have invited their friends Dr. and Mrs. George Bradman (Saniyah Galbreath and Andrew Fredette) to join them for drinks and dinner with a local clairvoyant, Madame Arcati (Alivea Johnson). Charles is planning a novel about a medium and wants to observe the behavior of Madame Arcati during a séance after dinner.
When the hapless psychic accidentally summons the spirit of Charles' deceased first wife, Elvira (Hanna Prince), his home and life are quickly turned into a shambles as his wife's ghost torments everyone including the Condomine's new maid, Edith (Michelle Boyles).
In a 1945 film, the cast included Rex Harrison as Charles and Margaret Rutherford as Madame Arcati. The classic comedy was also adapted into a 2020 film in which Judi Dench played Madame Arcati.
