Temple students have once again submitted their design ideas for the annual UIL Theatrical Design Contest. This year's source material is Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig. Unlike previous years' contests, students must set the play in its prescribed time and place with authentic feel of the intended era and locale descrbed by Christie with historical accuracy.
The contest is broken into four areas — costume design, set design, hair and make-up design and marketing. Temple entered the maximum number of students' work, including a team entry and two individual entries in each of the four areas.
Students who will be advancing to the state contest will be notified in the middle of March. The state contest is tentatively scheduled for May 3-4.
