Temple Advances to UIL District One-Act Play Contest PDF Print E-mail

Temple High's 2010 UIL one-act play team advanced to the district contest from the zone contest held Thursday, March 25 at Temple High School. Harker Heights was selected as the other advancing school by Dennis Maganza, critic judge.

Temple dominated the individual awards, including Best Actress in the contest (Maddie Kleypas) and Best Actor (Trenton Schneiders). Temple had more actors named to the All-Star Cast than any other school, and these included Gloria Matthews, Rachel Ann Stonestreet and Mikah Young. Named to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast were Reese Atkinson and Kathryn Pasichnyk.

Temple's five-man technical crew was selected as Best Crew in the zone. Anya Godigamuwe, who operated the lights, was named Temple's best technician.

UPDATED: Temple and Harker Heights will compete against Belton and A&M Consolidated at the district contest on Thursday, April 1 at the Cultural Activities Center. Belton (The Cover of Life) won Best Actress and A&M Consolidated (The Women of Lockerbie) won Best Actor during the Zone B competition Friday at Belton High School.
