Temple High School theatre students competed in nine events at the annual International Thespian Festival, June 21-26, 2010, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and came away with two International Championships and Superior Ratings in five of the nine events.

James Roeder won the competition in Scenic Design and Joel Williams won Sound Design. Both young men have their entries on display in the lobby of the Lied Center. Samantha Sheffer received a $1500 technical theatre scholarship.

The group left Saturday, June 19 and will return to Temple Monday afternoon, June 28. Last year, Temple advanced in eight events and won the international competition in Theatre Marketing and Stage Management, was in the Top 2 teams for Duet Pantomime, and was in the Final Four for Group Musical.

On Tusday, the students competed in the following events at the international contest in Lincoln. Ratings for each event are posted below. "Superior" is the highest rating given, with "Excellent" as the second highest rating. Temple received Superior in five events.
   Monologue = Mikah Young (Superior)
   Duet Acting = Maddie Kleypas and Lexie Tankersley (Excellent)
   Group Acting = Sean Fisher, Kat Pasichnyk and Rachel Ann Stonestreet (Superior)
   Duet Musical Theatre = Shannon Graham and Gloria Matthews (Excellent)
   Scenic Design = James Roeder (Superior, Intl. Winner)
   Theatre Marketing = Anya Godigamuwe (Excellent)
   Sound Design = Joel Williams (Superior, Intl. Winner)
   Stage Management = Samantha Sheffer (Excellent)
   Group Musical = "Run, Freedom, Run" (Superior)

On Wednesday, Trenton Schneiders and Samantha Sheffer attended scholarship interviews and James Roeder interviewed with college representatives. On Thursday morning, James had over 25 requests from different colleges and universities who wanted to meet with him.
